Unarmed Security
Extensive Training
Each Alliance Security officer must attend and pass the New York State mandated security program, which includes an 8-hour pre-assignment class. Within 90 days of hire, each security officer must pass an additional 16-hour security on-the-job training course. Each calendar year, the security officers must attend an 8-hour refresher training course – which we tailor to each specific site. We make certain all of our officers are trained on emergency procedures and have a working knowledge of detailed report writing. Additionally, the majority of our officers have certificates of fitness and are trained as fireguards. Our training staff consists of New York State certified general topics-security and American Heart Association Basic Life Support Instructors.
Site-specific training can include basic CPR training and rapid defibrillation training with an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). The sessions prepare security officers to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies and can save lives. The training program is typically delivered in combination with other basic emergency preparedness training courses. The basic First Aid course covers the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent, recognize and provide basic care for injuries and sudden illnesses. The newly updated Bloodborne Pathogens Training course teaches participants how Blood-borne pathogens are spread, how to prevent exposures, and what to do if exposed to infectious materials. The course meets OSHA’s revised Bloodborne Pathogens Standard.
